                        Dr. Modesto D. Detera, SUC president II, said during the first day of classes opened on June 9,2014,at the Sorsogon City Campus.

He also pointed out the following reminders for the information and guidance of the body: maximize the services of the utility workers in the cleanliness of the campus; nurses should help in the maintenance and cleanliness of the school, especially in ensuring sanitation of comfort rooms; improve computerization plan to address delays in computing attendance (time in) of the employees; develop College website to make information accessible to users except for confidential data which would be safeguarded by passwords.

Further, he said that MOAs and MOUs for approval of the BOT should be forwarded first to the Board secretary for review; plan reforms in the security services particularly in imposing discipline in the front gate and managing traffic, and the mandatory attendance in flag raising ceremony every Monday morning. President Detera conferred with the students and personnel of the Sorsogon City, Bulan, Magallanes and Castilla campuses during the opening of classes. In his campus tour, he reminded everyone that if anybody would advocate something, the action should manifest commitment.

In like manner, the orientation of non-permanent teaching personnel was held on June 3 at the Admission Testing Center. Dr. Detera talked with the non-permanent faculty personnel about the status of their employment in the College. He pointed out the required qualifications of a teaching personnel, attendance, assignments/classes and the desirable attitudes that one has to display or develop as a teacher/worker.

 

The following staff attended also the orientation: Mrs. Sylisa Estur, human resource mgt. officer, Edwin Balgemino, executive assistant, Dr. Helen R. Lara, Sorsogon City campus administrator and the newly designated directors. #
