The “Family Based Action for Children in Environment and Slums (FACES)-Livelihood Lecture Series”, unified the Sorsogon State College (SSC), Bicol University (BU) and City government of Sorsogon improve the lives of the 40 families in the slum areas in Barangay Sirangan, Sorsogon city.
The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) teamed up with Sorsogon State College (SSC) in the implementation of the Sorsogon City Food Processing and Packaging Shared Service Facility (SSF) Project.
Sorsogon State College participated in the 14th Annual Conference of South East Asian Association for Institutional Research (SEAAIR) held at Aquinas University of Legaspi City, Oct. 8-10, 2014, with the conference theme, “Cross Cultural Education for AEC 2015: Realizing Possibilities Defining Foundations”.
The College showcased 13 researches in the National Research Seminar on Research sponsored by REDTI with the theme: “Sharing Knowledge Across Colleges and Universities”, on October 22-24, 2014, at Hotel Supreme, Baguio City.
CY 2014 yielded a total of 29 completed researches. Of this number, six (6) were funded by the SSC thru R&D fund and the remaining 26 researches were self-funded.
Prof. Michael John A. Jamora, Education English faculty served as paper presenter in the National Multidisciplinary Research Conference 2014 held in Marco Polo Plaza Hotel, Lahug, Cebu City, October 17, this year.
A research study on the level of awareness and acceptability of the SSC Teacher Education Program (TEP) VMGO revealed that the four groups of respondents composed of the students, community and non teaching personnel were much aware of the vision, mission, goals of the College and of the of the TEP while the faculty were very much aware of the goals of the College.

For this second semester SY 2014-2015, the College posted a total enrollment of 8123 broken down as follows: advance education =363; higher education= 7263; technical/vocational = 120; and secondary education = 377. It dropped by 371 or 4 % .
