2024 SORSU GAMES AWARDING CEREMONY: Celebrating the outstanding performance of student-athletes

On March 15, 2024, The Sports, Culture and Arts Services Unit, under the leadership of Mr. Oliver F. Garbin, through its Sports unit led by Sorsogon City Campus Sports Coordinator, Engr. Clifford G. Gaton, officially closed the celebration of the 4-day SorSU Games 2024.
The Sorsogon State University covered court roared with shouts of victory during the awarding ceremony of the 2024 SorSU games. It was an awesome moment celebrating the biggest wins of the student-athletes. Hard work, discipline and competitiveness were exhibited across all competitions in the Intramural games. The event was not just about sports achievements but also a symbol of teamwork that brought everyone together in a spirit of camaraderie and sportsmanship.

Winners who fiercely competed in various sports categories received awards and accolades in recognition of their remarkable skills and relentless perseverance.

Crimson Wolves, CoT was proclaimed the overall champion, earning a total of 81 gold medals, 35 silver medals, and 24 bronze medals. The College of Engineering and Architecture (CoEA)–Verdant Vipers emerged as the first runner-up with 45 gold medals, 45 silver medals, and 47 bronze medals, followed by the College of Business and Management (CBM)–Golden Phoenix as the second runner-up, garnering a total of 43 gold medals, 26 silver medals, and 24 bronze medals, while the College of Teacher Education and Midwifery (CoTEdM)–Navy Falcons clinched the spot for third runner-up with 24 gold medals, 35 silver medals, and 32 bronze medals.

Moreover, Unit I–Ravenclaw was declared as the overall champion for the Laboratory High School (LHS) department, earning a total of 23 gold medals, 12 silver medals, and 8 bronze medals. Unit 3–Hufflepuff claimed the spot for the first runner-up with 17 gold medals, 5 silver medals, and 10 bronze medals, followed by Unit 4–Slytherin as the second runner-up with 7 gold medals, 17 silver medals, and 2 bronze medals, and Unit 2–Gryffindor as the third runner-up with 5 gold medals, 12 silver medals, and 18 bronze medals.

Coaches, students and key officials were also in attendance applauding the outstanding performance of the student-athletes. The awarding ceremony wrapped up with a closing remark from Ms. Lizel D. Lerios (Adviser, Future PEHM Mentors).

The recently concluded Intramural achieved its aim of promoting physical fitness and adhering to the unspoken rule of respect including how to behave graciously in triumph and defeat.
