Blessing and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony Marks Milestone for Sorsogon State University Castilla Campus

The Sorsogon State University Castilla Campus reached a pivotal moment today as it celebrated the Blessing and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony of its newly constructed entrance gate. The event, held on the university grounds, was a testament to the collective effort and dedication of the campus community.

Before the official proceedings commenced, attendees gathered at the Farmers Training Center for a solemn Eucharistic Celebration, expressing gratitude for the blessings bestowed upon the campus. The atmosphere was filled with reverence and appreciation for the journey that led to this significant milestone.

Transitioning to the SorSU-CC Grounds for the ceremony, attendees were welcomed with acknowledgments for esteemed guests, former employees, alumni, students, and barangay officials. Notable university officials, including SorSU Sorsogon City Campus Director, Dr. Telesforo Escoto; Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Johnner D. Ricafort; Vice President for Research, Extension, and Training, Dr. Ryan V. Dio; University Directors and SorSU President, Dr. Geraldine F. De Jesus, graced the occasion with their presence, highlighting the importance of the event for the university.

Castilla Campus Director, Prof. Andrew F. Detera set a tone of joy and jubilation with his Opening Remarks, expressing profound happiness at the inauguration of the campus entrance gate. He emphasized the symbolic significance of the gate, reflecting the rich history and journey of the campus community.

SorSU President, Dr. Geraldine F. De Jesus, in her inspirational message, extended heartfelt gratitude to the students, personnel, and faculty for their unwavering dedication to the university’s development. Dr. De Jesus underscored the significance of upholding SorSU’s good name, symbolized by the first ‘G,’ and emphasized the indispensable role of God, represented by the second ‘G,’ whose blessings and guidance pave the way for endless possibilities.

Representing the alumni of SorSU-CC, Mr. Arnel Arias shared insightful thoughts on how the entrance gate symbolizes the continuous evolution of the campus, balancing its heritage while embracing innovation.

The Blessing of the Entrance Gate, led by Rev. Fr. Alejandre Vergara, was a poignant moment, with prayers offered to bless all who would pass through its threshold. Candles were lit, symbolizing hope and guidance, before guests, former employees, alumni, and university officials gathered for the official ribbon-cutting ceremony. As the ribbon was cut, the gate swung open, signaling the commencement of a new chapter for the campus amid resounding applause and celebration.

In her closing remarks, SorSU-CC Human Resource Officer Mrs. Reynalda Duana expressed sincere appreciation and thanks to all those involved in the success of the ceremony, underscoring the collaborative effort that made the event possible.
