CEO Espina of US-Based OnDemand Innovation, DBA ODI Technologies, Inc. visits SorSU President De Jesus — holds presentation meeting on ODI & SorSU Progress Report (internship program) and proposed curriculum mapping

Representatives from US-Based OnDemand Innovation, DBA ODI Technologies, Inc., led by Mr. Michael J. Espina (CEO, ODI Technologies), together with Mr. Michael E. Espina (VP Corporate Development) and Ms. Marjorie D. Garcia (Executive Administrative Assistant), paid a courtesy visit to Sorsogon State University (SorSU) SUC President III, Dr. Geraldine F. De Jesus, last February 20, 2024, at the SorSU Office of the President.

Subsequently, CEO Espina spearheaded a presentation meeting with President De Jesus alongside concerned SorSU Top Executives, wherein the former discussed matters relative to the ODI & SorSU Progress Report, particularly regarding the internship, assistance, & recruitment program for SorSUeno students, as well as the proposed curriculum mapping.

Under the institution’s original Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with ODI Technologies, four (4) student-interns/apprentices from SorSU are presently engaged in an internship program at the company, with some of their immersion-based projects are the YACHTSETGO, NAUTA, & ADDOVIS THERAPEUTICS, among others. Additionally, ODI plans to recruit five (5) more SorSUenos as part of the second batch of student-interns. At the culmination of their OJT, the partner company likewise intends to host a graduation ceremony for the nine (9) student-interns at the SorSU-Bulan Campus. Through the ODI’s internship, assistance, & recruitment program, successful student-apprentices may also be absorbed and hired on as ODI employees.

Meanwhile, a proposed curriculum mapping of several programs under SorSU-Bulan Campus, namely, Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT), Bachelor of Science in Information Systems (BSIS), and Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (BSCS), is in motion to map out relevant curricula based on the existing programs as well as the market demand relative to industry standard technologies in software development. Moreover, the Bachelor of Science in Accounting Information System program was additionally explored with regard to the potential integration of Freshworks platforms into its curriculum since it has high demands for customer support.

The University’s engagement in the apprenticeship program with ODI enables the institution to leverage its alignment with these programs, seeking to make them attuned and responsive to the current needs and developments.
