ICYMI | SorSU-Graduate School organizes training-workshop on Curriculum Review and Innovations along its graduate programs

In line with its proactive efforts to strengthen its curriculum, enhance faculty involvement, and align educational programs for continuous improvement in education and foster academic excellence, Sorsogon State University – Graduate School (SorSU-GS), headed by Dr. Susan S. Janer (Dean, SorSU-GS), spearheaded a training-workshop on Curriculum Review and Innovations along its various graduate programs, from March 25-27, 2024, at the SorSU Social Hall, Sorsogon City Campus.

Dr. Jhonner D. Ricafort (Vice President for Academic Affairs), in lieu of SUC President III, Dr. Geraldine F. De Jesus, delivered the welcome remarks, which formally began the three-day activity. Subsequently, this was followed by the introduction of the participants by Dr. Ritzelda A. Deri (GS Coordinator, SDS & Program Chair, PhD Math Ed/MAED. Meanwhile, Dr. Sherill A. Gilbas (Program Chair, PhD Language Ed) provided the event’s house rules.

Moreover, the three-day training-workshop of SorSU-GS featured a distinguished resource speaker, Ms. Rachel D. Casimero (Chief, Education Program Specialist – Commission on Higher Education ROV) as well as a workshop proper. Further, Day 3 of the activity highlighted the presentation of respective outputs per program.

The event was participated by SorSU-GS faculty professors, other SorSU teaching personnel, graduate students, alumni, Basic Education teachers, and administrators in line with their respective programs/areas of expertise, to wit: DPA/MAM-PA; PhD Math Ed/MAED-Math; PhD Filipino/MAED-Filipino; PhD Language Ed/MAED-English; EdDLM/MED-EM/MAM-AS; MAT-THE/TE; & MAED-Science Ed, as well as other stakeholders/selected participants.

The three-day training-workshop seeks to redesign the different curricula of SorSU-GS and align them to the requirements of CHED Memorandum Order No. 15, s. 2019, entitled: “Policies, Standards and Guidelines for Graduate Programs.” (SorSU PIO)
