During final exam week at Sorsogon State University (SorSU)-Sorsogon City, the SorSU Peer Facilitators Organization, under the Guidance and Counseling Services of the Office of the Student Development Services (OSDS), initiated a heartwarming activity to uplift students.
Guided by their adviser, Mary Ann Jintalan, RGC, the peer facilitators distributed words of affirmation, tokens of appreciation, and candies on May 28, 2024. This thoughtful gesture aimed to remind students that they are not alone in their academic journey. Peer facilitators roamed the campus, sharing encouraging messages, small treats, and candies with students. “Our goal was to create a supportive atmosphere where students feel valued and motivated, “ said Ms. Jintalan.
The initiative received a positive response, with students expressing gratitude for the unexpected support during a stressful time. This activity highlighted the importance of positivity and kindness, showcasing the role of the Guidance and Counseling Services in promoting mental health and well-being. The SorSU Peer Facilitators Organization plans to continue similar initiatives, reinforcing their commitment to student welfare and the power of community and compassion. (SorSU PIO)
