Dr. Manuel A. Sanchez, Jr. (Overall Coordinator and Lead Accreditor, AACCUP, Inc. Team), in his General Impression and Highlight Recommendations of the two evaluated academic programs of SorSU, he remarked, “First and foremost, I would like to thank the administration of Sorsogon State University, specifically the University President, Dr. Geraldine F. De Jesus, the vice presidents, and other key officials, most notably, the dedicated and hardworking Quality Assurance Director, Dr. Jenet B. Fuentes as well as the facilitators, faculty, and other stakeholders, for their unwavering support and cooperation. You are all deserving of praise for your outstanding work.”
Moreover, Dr. Sanchez, Jr. shared insightful recommendations of the AACCUP team on the two evaluated academic programs (MED-EM and BTVTED), specifically on Areas of Instruction, Research, Extension & Community Services, Faculty Development Library (for BTVTEd). The AACCUP Overall Coordinator concluded his message with a quotation to ponder. He asserted, “To sum up, Peter Drucker said, ‘The best way to prepare for the future is to create it.’ — This means that in order to realize your vision of becoming a research university with a culture of excellence in developing globally competitive and values-oriented leaders and professionals, all stakeholders must work together.”
Meanwhile, during the 𝘈𝘤𝘤𝘦𝘱𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘗𝘭𝘦𝘥𝘨𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘊𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘪𝘵𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵, Dr. Ryan V. Dio (Vice President for Research, Extension, and Training), in lieu of SUC President III, Dr. Geraldine F. De Jesus, conveyed his profound gratitude to the AACCUP accreditors for their indispensable input and insights and affirmed that the recommendations are all well taken into consideration as these will serve as a guide in elevating the services provided by the university to its stakeholders, both internal and external.
“We acknowledge your recommendations as valuable input for further improvement because, as a progressive university, we always commit to the continual improvement of our system anchored on our vision and mission.”
Following the 𝘈𝘤𝘤𝘦𝘱𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘗𝘭𝘦𝘥𝘨𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘊𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘪𝘵𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 of Dr. Dio, the 𝘝𝘪𝘳𝘵𝘶𝘢𝘭 𝘗𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘰𝘧 𝘊𝘦𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘧𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘙𝘦𝘤𝘰𝘨𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 for the esteemed AACCUP accreditors briefly transpired.
Further, Dr. Jenet B. Fuentes (Director, Office of the Quality Assurance), in her closing message, reiterated that the program accreditation is part of the Sorsogon State University quality journey, wherein the accreditation process critically evaluates academic programs and analyzes their weaknesses and thereby converting them into strengths.
“Let us assess the good and not-so-good things that we have learned during the accreditation process. After all, the success of this accreditation visit is not on how we provided the documents required but rather on how we put into action the lessons we have learned. Such collective hard work showed that indeed quality is a shared responsibility, and at the same time, a shared commitment.”
Likewise, Dr. Fuentes also conveyed her sincere appreciation to the AACCUP accreditors for their feedback and recommendations, as well as the SorSU Task Force and Working Committees for their relentless effort, hard work, and unparalleled commitment toward the realization of the accreditation activity.
“We are thankful to our esteemed AACCUP accreditors for being part of this program accreditation and for giving us insights and suggestions that would lead us to a better university.” (SorSU PIO)
