On behalf of the Department of Education (DepEd) – Schools Division of Sorsogon City, Schools Division Superintendent (SDS) William E. Gando, CESO VI, along with Ms. Elvie J. Figueroa of DepEd Sorsogon City Division, held a courtesy visit to SUC President III, Dr. Geraldine F. De Jesus, to award her the plaque of recognition as ‘Legacy Builder on Education’, last March 31, 2023. This is to honor President De Jesus’ significant contributions, commitment, and dedication through exemplary educational programs and initiatives rendered to the Division during the implementation of its Division Change Plan: REACH, SHINE, Build a LEGACY from 2019-2022.
During the visit, SDS Gando earnestly commended President De Jesus, being the SUC President III of the Sorsogon State University (SorSU), for her outstanding leadership and all-inclusive public service not only to SorSUeños but to the Sorsoganon community as well.As a response, President De Jesus optimistically affirmed, “𝘏𝘢𝘣𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘱𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘢𝘳𝘢𝘱 𝘯𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘯 𝘱𝘢𝘵𝘢𝘢𝘴, 𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘪 𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯 𝘱𝘢𝘣𝘢𝘣𝘢𝘺𝘢𝘢𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘯𝘢𝘴𝘢 𝘣𝘢𝘣𝘢 [𝘓𝘎𝘜𝘴]… 𝘬𝘶𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘯𝘰 𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘬𝘢𝘪𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘢𝘯 𝘯𝘪𝘭𝘢 𝘯𝘢 𝘮𝘢𝘪𝘵𝘶𝘵𝘶𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘯𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘯”, as she emphasized that one of the goals of the University is to have strong collaborations and linkages with the Local Government Units (LGUs).
