DTI holds SSF Donation Ceremony to 13 Cooperators — turns over 2 shared service facility projects to SorSU

Led by Mr. Dindo G. Nabol (OIC-Regional Director, DTI RO-V) & Ms. Lourdes D. Pancho (Provincial Director, DTI-SPO), the Department of Trade and Industry – Region V (DTI RO-V), during its 𝘊𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘮𝘰𝘯𝘪𝘢𝘭 𝘋𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘰𝘧 𝘚𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘥 𝘚𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘪𝘤𝘦 𝘍𝘢𝘤𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘗𝘳𝘰𝘫𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘴 to 13 SSF Cooperators, officially turned over two SSF Projects, entitled: 𝙎𝙤𝙧𝙨𝙤𝙜𝙤𝙣 𝙋𝙚𝙤𝙥𝙡𝙚’𝙨 𝙄𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙇𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙖𝙜𝙚 𝙄𝙣𝙣𝙤𝙫𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙁𝙖𝙗𝙧𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙇𝙖𝙗𝙤𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙮 (𝙋𝙄𝙇𝙄 𝙁𝙖𝙗𝙇𝙖𝙗) and 𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙘𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙋𝙖𝙘𝙠𝙖𝙜𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙁𝙖𝙘𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙁𝙞𝙨𝙝 𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙘𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙜 located in Magallanes to Sorsogon State University (SorSU), represented by SUC President III, Dr. Geraldine F. De Jesus, together with Prof. Lynn C. Mendoza (Campus Director, Magallanes Campus) and Mr. Josemarie L. Gonzales, Jr. (Manager, Sorsogon PILI FabLab and Manager, Pili Research Center) last October 13, 2023, at Una Pizzeria, Bitan-o, Sorsogon City.

The SSF equipment for PILI FabLab includes one (1) unit of Industrial Laser, Engraver, & Marker; one (1) unit of Large Format Printer; and one (1) unit of Digital CNC Milling.

Meanwhile, the following SSF machines/equipment for Processing and Packaging Facility for Fish Processing consists of three (3) units of Stainless Steel Working Tables, 3 units of Stainless Steel Storage Racks, 3 units of Stainless Steel Rack Trolley, 2 units of Soak and Brine Tank, 1 unit of Stainless Blanching Facility, 2 units of Fish Mincing Machine, 3 units of Pressure Cooker, 2 units of Industrial Stove, 1 unit of Upright Freezer with Chiller, 1 unit of Chest Freezer, 2 units of Chamber Vacuum Packaging Machine, 1 unit of Continuous Horizontal Band Sealer, and 3 units of Heat Gun Sealer.

Ms. Lourdes D. Pancho (Provincial Director, DTI-SPO) commenced the ceremonial event with a welcome remark, which was followed by a message from Mr. Dindo G. Nabol (OIC-Regional Director, DTI RO-V), wherein Regional Director Nabol expressed his appreciation to DTI-Sorsogon’s 13 cooperators for their proactive and cooperative involvement to the former’s programs and projects.

Meanwhile, the 13 cooperators, composed of 8 cooperatives, 3 local government units, and 2 academes, also shared their messages of appreciation to the department. SUC President III, Dr. Geraldine F. De Jesus, likewise genuinely extended her gratitude to the agency on behalf of the University.

Further, the SSF is the flagship project of the DTI, with the goal to optimize the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) productivity and efficiency by providing better access to machinery, equipment, tools, knowledge, skills, and trainings under a shared system.

Relatively, the Sorsogon PILI FabLab was officially inaugurated last February 23, 2021 — the first digital fabrication laboratory in Sorsogon Province.

Along with SorSU-Sorsogon City and Magallanes Campuses, the SSF Donation Ceremony was also attended by the following DTI cooperators, namely: People’s Alternative Livelihood Micro-Finance Foundation of Sorsogon, Inc. (PALMFSI); Sorsogon Agro Aquatic Development Corporation (SAADECO); St. Anne Farmers Multipurpose Cooperative (SAFMPC); Sorsogon Coco-coir Producers Cooperative (SCCPC), OK Bikol Association, Inc.; Pili Processors Association of Sorsogon (PPAS); Aggrupation of Advocates for Environmental Protection (AGAP); Lingap Para sa Kalusugan ng Sambayanan, Inc.
