Pursuing the University’s vision and commitment toward providing quality education to the SorSUeños, Sorsogon State University (SorSU), along with its Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management (BSHM) and Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management (BSTM) programs, underwent an onsite evaluation and visit relative to the SorSU’s proposal for Sustainable Tourism Education Program Upgrading Project (STEP UP), which was conducted by the officials of Commission on Higher Education (CHED) ROV and selected members of Technical Committee for Hospitality Management and Tourism Management (TCHMTM) last August 30, 2023, at SorSU Board Room, Sorsogon City Campus.
With its project, entitled: “𝙏𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙤𝙬𝙖𝙧𝙙𝙨 𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙜𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙏𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙞𝙨𝙢 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙃𝙤𝙨𝙥𝙞𝙩𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙈𝙖𝙣𝙖𝙜𝙚𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝 𝙎𝙩𝙖𝙩𝙚-𝙤𝙛-𝙩𝙝𝙚-𝘼𝙧𝙩 𝙁𝙖𝙘𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙚𝙨, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙄𝙣𝙙𝙪𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙮 𝙍𝙚𝙡𝙚𝙫𝙖𝙣𝙩 𝙍𝙚𝙨𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙘𝙝𝙚𝙨, 𝙀𝙭𝙩𝙚𝙣𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙄𝙣𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙪𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣,” SorSU was evaluated along areas of 𝘍𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘪𝘢𝘭 𝘗𝘭𝘢𝘯, 𝘍𝘢𝘤𝘶𝘭𝘵𝘺 𝘋𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘭𝘰𝘱𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘗𝘭𝘢𝘯, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘙𝘦𝘴𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘤𝘩 & 𝘌𝘹𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯.
Together with Atty. Septon A. De La Cruz, CESO III (Regional Director, CHED ROV), the CHED officials and TCHMTM members included Ms. Aline Magalong (CHED-Office of Programs and Standards Development Chief), Ms. Ma. Christina Aquino (CHED Technical Member for TM & HM), Ms. Lucita Mejia (CHED-OPSD Staff), and Ms. Ma. Sharie A. Bailon (CHED ROV Delegate).
Meanwhile, present also during the onsite visit and evaluation, along with SUC President III, Dr. Geraldine F. De Jesus, were SorSU top executives: Dr. Jhonner D. Ricafort (Vice President for Academic Affairs), Dr. Telesforo D. Escoto (Campus Director, Sorsogon City Campus), Dr. Maria Luisa P. Mirasol (Dean, College of Business and Management), Ms. Aunel D. Dinglasan (Program Chair, BSHM), Ms. Maria Bernadette S. Mirate (Program Chair, BSTM), Mr. Novie F. Evasco (SorSU Dormtel Manage), Ms. Cosna Joan Jacob (CBM Faculty Member), and other SorSU officials.
In addition, the CHED ROV delegates and TCHMTM team also inspected the SorSU Dormtel and visited the SorSU Library. (SorSU PIO)
