Proclamation No. 544, ratified by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on May 10, 2024, designates July as National Agriculturists’ Month. This month-long celebration honors the invaluable contributions of the agriculture sector and its professionals, highlighting their role in sustaining the nation’s food security and economic stability.

Agriculture is a vital part of the Philippine economy, employing 23.1% of the workforce as of the latest survey by Statista. Although this represents a decrease from previous years (with a peak of 27.19% in 2016), the sector remains essential for the country’s development.
