As part of the proactive undertakings to ensure smooth and successful conduct of the upcoming one-day simultaneous college entrance examination for incoming first-year college students for Academic Year 2024-2025, Sorsogon State University (SorSU) – Admission Services Unit, in partnership with the Guidance & Counseling Services Unit, held a final briefing and training to all assigned chief examiners, room examiners, and proctors of the four campuses of SorSU on January 18, 2024, at the SorSU Audio-Visual Hall, Sorsogon City Campus.
During the final briefing, the examiners and proctors received complete training on how to efficiently administer the standardized entrance examination, which included a review of the roles & responsibilities of the examiners, dissemination of respective room assignments, and a detailed presentation of using the OPAS Attendance application.
In addition, Prof. Saturnino C. Carranza (Director, SorSU-DRRMO) also discussed the tasks and functions of the DRRMO personnel and volunteers in coordination with the Health Services Unit and Safety & Security Unit. This is to ensure and safeguard the health, safety, and security of the students, examiners, and other key personnel involved.
Further, questions and clarifications on test permits, exit/entry protocols, holding/testing venues, and attendance application use were among the issues addressed during the event. Relatively, the admission test for aspiring first-year college students will be held simultaneously in four campuses of the University on January 20, 2024, from 7:30 am – 4:30 pm. (SorSU PIO)
