SorSU-CoTEdM hosts Send Off Party for its graduating students

To recognize the hard work, commitment, and achievements of the soon-to-be-conferred Class of 2024 graduates and celebrate their transformative journey from the academic realm toward the professional/workforce setting, Sorsogon State University – College of Teacher Education and Midwifery (SorSU – CoTEdM), headed by Dr. Alfonso L. Garcia, Jr. (Dean, CoTEdM), successfully hosted a Send Off Party for its graduating students last June 06, 2024, at the SorSU Social Hall, Sorsogon City Campus.

Bearing the theme, “Caps, Gowns, and Cheers: Marking Milestones, Embracing New Adventures,” the celebration commenced with a grand red carpet walk of the CoTEdM graduating students under respective programs: BEED, BSED (English, Filipino, Mathematics, Sciences), BCAED, BPED, BSNED, & BTVTED (Automotive, Electrical, FSM), together with the CoTEdM faculty members and officials — setting the tone for the evening’s festivities.

Prof. Anabell A. Manga (Coordinator, Student Teaching Internship) provided the opening remarks of the celebration. Meanwhile, Dr. Alfonso L. Garcia, Jr. (Dean, CoTEdM), in lieu of SUC President III, Dr. Geraldine F. De Jesus, delivered some Words of Wisdom, underscoring the consistent outstanding achievements of the college in the past Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (LEPT) results, particularly last September 2023 and March 2024.

“For the longest time, the College of Teacher Education has been able to establish a culture of excellence. And I know for sure that every one of you here understood that. Live by that, and sooner you have to prove that.”

“On behalf of the College of Teacher Education, I wish everyone well and my warmest congratulations.”

The occasion highlighted a Congratulatory Message & Reply portion, where the junior representatives of respective programs proudly commended the milestones and success of the graduating class and, in return, the latter graciously extended some words of wisdom & encouragement on the former’s academic journey. Moreover, the event also featured Tribute Presentation; Handling of Academic Challenge from the Class of 2024 & Acceptance of Academic Challenge from the Class of 2025, headed respectively by Khiara Quenzelle D. Belleca and Alexisse Anne Escobal; Toast of Success and Gratitude by Rommel Golpeo; as well as the awarding of special awards to winners (Head Turner, Best Dressed, Face of the Night, Star of the Night, King & Queen of the Night).

Further, Dr. Telesforo D. Escoto (Campus Director, SorSU – Sorsogon City Campus) likewise graced the activity and delivered a message to the attendees. The celebration culminated with a closing message from Future Educators’ Guild (FEG) President Maykaela F. Miraples. (SorSU PIO)
