Sorsogon State University (SorSU) faculty member from the College of Teacher Education and Midwifery (CoTEdM), Dr. Aaron A. Funa, is now a published author of Springer Nature — where Dr. Funa, along with other prominent experts and professors, is among the co-authors of the international academic book entitled, “A Diversity of Pathways Through Science Education.”
Springer Nature, also known as the Springer Nature Group — a German-British academic publishing company — is one of the leading publishers of the world’s most prestigious journals.
Particularly, Dr. Funa, together with Dr. Lydia S. Roleda (De La Salle University) and Dr. Marciar S. Prudente (De La Salle University), co-authored the published book’s Chapter 9: Integrated Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics — Problem-Based Learning — Education for Sustainable Development (I-STEM-PBL-ESD) Framework.
Further, co-edited by Dr. Yann Shiou Ong, Dr. Timothy Ter Ming Tan, and Dr. Yew-Jin Lee, the academic book “A Diversity of Pathways Through Science Education” showcases the various work of academics who contributed their work at the International Science Education Conference (ISEC) 2021, centered on the conference theme, “20/20 Vision for Science Education Research” (Springer Nature, 2024).
With chapters grouped thematically into three sections: (1) Questions and Questioning in Science/STEM education; (2) Developing Science Teaching and Assessment; (3) History, Philosophy, and Sociology of Science/Engineering, and Informal Learning, the book seeks to primarily cultivate and generate intellectual and academic discussions relative to the present and future landscapes of science education.
