To ensure that the QMS is effective, efficient, and continuously improve leading to enhanced customer satisfaction and quality services as well as establish a strong pool of internal auditors to strengthen the University’s capability in conducting internal audit, Sorsogon State University – International Organization for Standardization (SorSU-ISO), headed by Prof. Shirley G. Dicen (Head, SorSU-ISO), is presently spearheading a three-day ISO 9001 Internal Quality Audit (IQA) Training from November 20-22, 2023, and an upcoming Mock Audit scheduled on November 23-24, 2023, at the SorSU University Library.
SUC President III, Dr. Geraldine F. De Jesus, provided the welcome message which formally commenced the week-long event. Featuring Dr. Benito C. Castillo (CEO, BCJA Consultancy), the training consists of topics on Part 1: Mindset: Strategic Understanding of ISO 9001 Quality Management System and Internal Requirements of Definition of terms related to Continual Improvement (QMS Fundamental, Concepts and Principles; ISO 9001:2015 Audit Requirements; Process-Based Audit Approach), Part 2: Mastery: Specific Application and Techniques of a Management System Audit (ISO 19011 Clause 5 – Managing an Audit Programme), and Part 3 Maturity: Sustaining a Value-Adding QMS Internal Audit Program for Continual Development (SUCCESS Formula of a Highly Effective Internal Auditor, BCJA Partnership Programs).
Likewise, the training is also composed of a series of workshops, including Workshop No. 1: Understanding the Actual Process, Workshop No. 2: PDCA Audit Checklist, and Workshop No. 3: Identifying and Writing a Non-Conformity. Moreover, the participants will undergo an Internal Audit Written Examination on Day 4. On the other hand, Day 5 will highlight the Preparation of Audit Plan, Mock Audit, Consolidation of Mock Audit Findings, and Final Coaching. (SorSU PIO)
