SorSU – Office of Extension & Training, through two-day training-workshop, further equips SorSU extension coordinators & faculty-extensionists in crafting Interdisciplinary Extension Programs

To further capacitate SorSU extension coordinators, faculty-extensionists, and concerned staff from different campuses and colleges of the University on the concepts, principles, and policies on extension for an improved and sustainable extension service, the Sorsogon State University – Office of Extension and Training, headed by its Director, Dr. Ana Cristina G. Fortes, successfully conducted its two-day on-site and live-in training-workshop called 𝙍𝙚𝙨𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙘𝙝-𝙀𝙭𝙩𝙚𝙣𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣-𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙙𝙪𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙄𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙛𝙖𝙘𝙚: 𝘾𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙁𝙪𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚𝙨 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙄𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙙𝙞𝙨𝙘𝙞𝙥𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙧𝙮 𝙀𝙭𝙩𝙚𝙣𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙜𝙧𝙖𝙢 from June 27-28, 2023, at 401K Resort, Monbon, Irosin, Sorsogon.

Dr. Ryan V. Dio (Vice President for Research, Extension & Training) commenced the talk session of the event regarding 𝐋𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝟏: 𝘙𝘦𝘷𝘪𝘴𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘊𝘰𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘱𝘵𝘴 & 𝘗𝘰𝘭𝘪𝘤𝘪𝘦𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘚𝘰𝘳𝘚𝘜 𝘌𝘹𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘚𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘪𝘤𝘦𝘴, while 𝐋𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝟐: 𝘈𝘭𝘪𝘨𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘎𝘈𝘋 𝘈𝘨𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘢 𝘵𝘰 𝘚𝘰𝘳𝘚𝘜 𝘌𝘹𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘗𝘳𝘰𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘮𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘗𝘳𝘰𝘫𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘴 was addressed by Ms. Ruth P. Barcelo (Director, Gender and Development).

Meanwhile, Dr. Deanna C. Regnim (Director, Services – Strategic Foresight and Innovation and Associate Professor III – College of Trades and Technology, Bicol State College of Applied Sciences and Technology) engaged the participants with her talk session on Pre-Lecture Workshop 1 (𝐋𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝟑: 𝘈𝘭𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘍𝘶𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦𝘴 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘚𝘰𝘙𝘚𝘜 𝘌𝘹𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘚𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘪𝘤𝘦𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩 𝘍𝘶𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦𝘴 𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘍𝘰𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘛𝘰𝘰𝘭𝘴).

Afterward, 𝘞𝘰𝘳𝘬𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘱 1/𝘖𝘶𝘵𝘱𝘶𝘵 𝘗𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 and an 𝘖𝘱𝘦𝘯 𝘍𝘰𝘳𝘶𝘮 transpired. The Day 1 of the activity concluded with an 𝐄𝐱𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐎𝐩𝐞𝐧 𝐂𝐢𝐫𝐜𝐥𝐞: 𝘓𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘮𝘺 𝘤𝘰-𝘦𝘹𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘴 – Extension Coordinators.

In addition, the Day 2 of the training-workshop focused on 𝐋𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝟒: 𝘗𝘳𝘰𝘫𝘦𝘤𝘵 𝘗𝘳𝘪𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘻𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 & 𝘙𝘰𝘢𝘥𝘮𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘨 by Dr. Deanna C. Regnim, which proceeded with 𝘞𝘰𝘳𝘬𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘱 2 and 𝘖𝘱𝘦𝘯 𝘍𝘰𝘳𝘶𝘮/𝘚𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨. The same activities which included Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), 𝘞𝘰𝘳𝘬𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘱 2: 𝘊𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘐𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘥𝘪𝘴𝘤𝘪𝘱𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘳𝘺 𝘌𝘹𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘗𝘳𝘰𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘮𝘴 and followed by another Open Forum continued in the afternoon. Along with creating a more effective and sustainable extension service, the two-day training session also intends to develop feasible and relevant mechanisms with the participants, which will further strengthen and promote SorSU’s student and faculty-extensionist mobility and engagements.
