Bannering the theme: “2023 𝙂𝙍𝘼𝘿𝙐𝘼𝙏𝙀𝙎: 𝘾𝙚𝙡𝙚𝙗𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙋𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚, 𝙀𝙢𝙗𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙊𝙥𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙪𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙚𝙨, 𝙎𝙝𝙞𝙛𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙋𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙥𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚𝙨”, Sorsogon State University (SorSU), the 𝙋𝙖𝙢𝙖𝙣𝙩𝙖𝙨𝙖𝙣𝙜 𝙈𝙖𝙮 𝙋𝙪𝙨𝙤, successfully conducted and celebrated its 𝘊𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘌𝘹𝘦𝘳𝘤𝘪𝘴𝘦𝘴, from June 06-09, 2023, at SorSU Social Hall, SorSU – Bulan Campus, Sorsogon Convention Center, and Sorsogon Cultural Center for the Arts.
A four-day event, the University’s 𝘊𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘌𝘹𝘦𝘳𝘤𝘪𝘴𝘦𝘴, was conducted from June 07 – 09, 2023, with SorSU – Laboratory High School’s 6th Commencement Exercise taking place earlier on June 06, 2023. Moreover, the 𝘊𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘌𝘹𝘦𝘳𝘤𝘪𝘴𝘦 of SorSU – Bulan Campus was held on July 07, 2023, at Bulan Gymnasium, while SorSU – School of Graduate Studies (SGS) celebrated its 𝘊𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘊𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘮𝘰𝘯𝘺 at Sorsogon Cultural Center for the Arts last June 08, 2023.
Meanwhile, Castilla and Magallanes Campuses, together with the College of Business and Management (Sorsogon City Campus), celebrated the 30𝘵𝘩 𝘊𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘌𝘹𝘦𝘳𝘤𝘪𝘴𝘦𝘴 of the institution on June 09, 2023 (morning) at Sorsogon Convention Center.
“𝘈𝘴 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘥𝘶𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘵𝘰𝘥𝘢𝘺, 𝘐 𝘶𝘳𝘨𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘵𝘰 𝘤𝘢𝘳𝘳𝘺 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘱𝘪𝘳𝘪𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘧𝘶𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦. Following the commencement address was the awarding of medals to Latin Honor students, headed by SUC President III, Dr. Geraldine F. De Jesus, and accompanied by the parents of the honor students. The 30𝘵𝘩 𝘊𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘌𝘹𝘦𝘳𝘤𝘪𝘴𝘦𝘴 of the 𝙋𝙖𝙢𝙖𝙣𝙩𝙖𝙨𝙖𝙣𝙜 𝙈𝙖𝙮 𝙋𝙪𝙨𝙤 successfully culminated with the singing of the SorSU Hymn “𝙃𝙖𝙞𝙡 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙚, 𝙋𝙧𝙞𝙙𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙎𝙤𝙧𝙨𝙤𝙜𝙤𝙣” (composed by Marlon Peter Gamis) by the Class of 2023 Graduates.
On the other hand, the ceremonies for the College of Engineering and Architecture, College of Teacher Education & Midwifery Program, and College of Technology (Sorsogon City Campus) were the last event celebrated in the afternoon of June 09, 2023, at the Sorsogon Convention Center.
Aside from Hon. Dette Escudero, the esteemed guest speakers who graced the commencement exercises were Engr. Ma. Jessica J. Jeresano for the Laboratory High School, Hon. Manuel “Wowo” L. Fortes, Jr. (2nd District Representative, Sorsogon Province) for Bulan Campus; Dr. Alberto N. Naperi (SUC President IV, Central Bicol State University of Agriculture) for the Graduate School; and Hon. Wilbert T. Lee (Congressman, Agri Party List) for the Sorsogon City Main Campus – afternoon ceremony, respectively.
