The CoTEd graduates were conferred their respective degrees, including 72 in Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEEd), 18 in Bachelor of Physical Education, 22 in Bachelor of Culture and Arts Education, 38 in Bachelor of Special Needs Education, 23 in Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSEd) major in English, 32 in BSEd major in Mathematics, 22 in BSEd major in Filipino, 22 in BSEd major in Sciences, and 40 in Bachelor of Technical Vocational Education (Majors in: Automotive Technology – 9, Electrical Technology – 10, & Food Service Management – 21).

Meanwhile, under CoEA, the degrees conferred comprised 78 in Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, 32 in Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, 60 in Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, and 67 in Bachelor of Science in Architecture.

Notably, Dr. Karol Mark R. Yee (Executive Director, The Second Congressional Commission on Education [EDCOM 2]), the distinguished commencement speaker, emphasized to the graduates their new roles as agents of change in a nation facing crises like illiteracy, nutrition crisis, and climate change. He remarked, “The education crisis is daunting, but your generation has something that our reports cannot measure — hope, creativity, and grit.”

Qouting Filipino author Lualhati Bautista, Dr. Yee reminded the graduates: “Ang payapang pampang ay para lang sa mga pangahas na sasalunga sa alimpuyo ng mga alon sa panahon ng unos. [The peaceful shore belongs to the brave who dare cross the storm.]. Mangahas tayo. Humayo. Baguhin ang edukasyon. Baguhin ang mga sistemang nagdulot ng krisis na ito. Let us build a future for yourselves, for your families, and the future generation of Filipinos so that they can actually dream and that they actually have the opportunities to fulfill it.”

The EDCOM 2 Executive Director also challenged the graduates to reform the education landscape and address the systems behind these crises, stressing that the country urgently needs their leadership. With only 2 out of 10 Filipinos able to attend college and graduate, he urged them to remain resolute and make a meaningful impact. He concluded, “Hold your hearts steady and cross the storm because the Philippines needs you not someday but today.”

Following the commencement address was the awarding of medals to honor students and diplomas to the graduates. Ms. Alexisse Anne B. Escobal (BSNED), Magna Cum Laude, delivered the Words of Gratitude on behalf of the Class of 2025 graduates. The 32nd Commencement Exercises Day 3 concluded with the singing of the SorSU Hymn.

Warmest congratulations to the Class of 2025 Graduates! The SorSU community celebrates with you on this significant milestone. We wish you all the best as you embark on new beginnings and future endeavors! (SorSU PIO)
