The day began with a warm and welcoming program, highlighted by the opening remarks of SorSU President, Dr. Geraldine F. De Jesus. The event featured illuminating presentations from various university departments, introductions to task forces dedicated to accreditation, and an orientation on accreditation activities. Dr. De Jesus emphasized that accreditation serves as a recognition of SorSU’s competency across ten crucial areas, reaffirming the institution’s commitment to delivering high-quality education.
In the afternoon, the focus shifted to the Sorsogon State University Castilla Campus, where the AACCUP Online Program Accreditation continued. This phase covered Faculty, Curriculum, and Extension programs. The campus resonated with gratitude expressed by alumni who have benefited from SorSU’s educational offerings.
Visayas State University’s Dr. Manuel Gacutan and Dr. Deejay M. Lumanao, serving as accreditors, provided valuable assessments. Ms. Ira Habala underscored the significance of Extension and Community Involvement, emphasizing SorSU’s community-centric approach. Dr. Rose Ann Cleotilde I. Sambo shed light on Faculty Development, reflecting the university’s commitment to enhancing its teaching staff’s capabilities. Mr. Jerome Llabres presented a comprehensive overview of the Instruction and Curriculum of the BSA Department, ensuring academic programs meet the highest standards.
