In 1907, the Sorsogon Trade School was established, which was later renamed to Sorsogon School of Arts and Trades through Republic Act 704 in 1953. SCAT aims to provide training to prepare the youth for gainful occupation along with trade-industry skills. To further address the community’s needs, SCAT, through Republic Act No. 3742, implemented pertinent provisions of the Philippine Constitution and prioritized the development of skilled manpower in agricultural, industrial, trade-technical, fishery, and other vocational courses.
