SorSU faculty members attend DOST-NRCP Research Pre-Engagement and Capacity Building Activity

On August 2, 2024, the Department of Science and Technology-National Research Council of the Philippines (DOST-NRCP), in collaboration with Sorsogon State University, held a Research Pre-Engagement and Capacity Building Activity at the SorSU Audio-Visual Hall, Sorsogon City.
The activity began with an inspirational message from Dr. Aimee Lynn A. Barrion-Dupo (NRCP President). Following her address, Mr. Nhikerr M. Morota (Project Technical Assistant VI) presented NRCP’s Research and Development (R&D) priorities and funding opportunities. This was succeeded by Mr. Jesse M. Nicavera’s (Science Research Specialist II) detailed discussion of the NRCP Evaluation Process and offered valuable tips.


Subsequently, Ms. Maradika Ysiaba M. Ramos (Project Technical Assistant VI, NRCP-RDLead), provided an overview of the RDLead Fire Project, while Dr. Shirley T. Palisoc (SorSU RD Leader, NRCP) shared her expertise on related research topics. This segment was followed by an engaging open forum.


In the afternoon, Mr. Jamar G. Garcia (Information Officer II, NRCP) discussed NRCP Extension Services, and Ms. Kim Glaiza G. Wong (Science Research Specialist II) led an orientation and workshop on NRCP Membership Application Procedures. The event concluded with closing remarks from Dr. Bernardo N. Sepeda (Executive Director, NRCP), bringing an end to a day of discussions and learning.
