SORSOGON STATE UNIVERSITY

CASTILLA CAMPUS

The Sorsogon State University (SorSU) Castilla Campus underwent a series of name changes, starting as Castilla Agricultural High School under Republic Act No. 6565 in 1972, and then becoming the Sorsogon National Agricultural School (SNAS) in 1974. Years after the establishment of SNAS, Republic Act No. 7666 was enacted, converting the Sorsogon College of Arts and Trade (SCAT) in the Municipality of Sorsogon, Sorsogon Province, into a state college. This law integrated the vocational schools of Magallanes, Bulan, and SNAS in Castilla. As part of the newly established Sorsogon State College (SSC), the campus was then called the SSC School of Agriculture and Agricultural-Based Technology. It is now known as the SorSU Castilla Campus.

Located in Mayon, Castilla, Sorsogon, the campus benefits from an ideal agricultural environment characterized by favorable topography, accessibility, and ample room for future expansion.

As a specialized campus dedicated to Agricultural Sciences, SorSU Castilla offers a range of programs that align with its focus on agriculture and related fields. The campus is also home to several research centers dedicated to advancing agricultural, bamboo, and Pili-driven research. In addition, SorSU Castilla maintains strong partnerships with regional, national, and international organizations, enhancing its curriculum and research initiatives. The campus boasts a team of competent faculty, scientists, and seasoned researchers committed to driving innovation and progress in the agricultural sector.
