SorSU Magallanes Campus holds General Orientation for First Year Students

A total of 615 first year students gathered under the shade of mahogany trees to attend the general orientation. Along with the discussions of various curricular programs offered, rules and regulations as well as policies on Library, Health, Guidance and Counselling, Registrar’s, Scholarships and Financial Assistances, Sports, Culture and Arts, Gender and Development, ILDO/Career and Job Placement, and SorSU MDRRMO and other services were tackled by respective in charge of the units.

Prof. Lynn C. Mendoza, Campus Director, gave her welcome remarks while Miss. Julie Ann H. Honrubia, HRMO, introduced the SorSU employees to the students. The occasion was highlighted with a very inspiring message by SorSU President, Dr. Geraldine F. De Jesus reminding the students of the importance of diligence, responsibility, resiliency, and sacrifice in order to achieve ones goals. Dr. Jhonner Ricafort, Vice President for Academic Affairs also talked on the school policies and other academic concerns. Prof. Maria Crisanta M. Jarque, Director, OSDS gave an overview of the Office of the Student Development and Services via AVP.


The crowd up-roared when the newly hired faculty members danced their BINI ways to Islang Patropiko. The rest of the afternoon was devoted to the orientation for the old students in the auditorium with respective program chairs, faculty members and non-teaching personnel.
