Garcia, Jr. (Dean, College of Teacher Education), attends the 36th Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP) Annual National Conference held at the Century Park Hotel, Malate, Manila from March 27 to 29, 2023.
With the theme, βππ΅π³π¦π―π¨π΅π©π¦π―πͺπ―π¨ π’ ππΆππ΅πΆπ³π¦ π°π§ ππΆπ’ππͺπ΅πΊ ππ΄π΄πΆπ³π’π―π€π¦ πͺπ― ππͺπ¨π©π¦π³ ππ₯πΆπ€π’π΅πͺπ°π― π΅π©π³π°πΆπ¨π© ππ’π³π΅π―π¦π³π΄π©πͺπ±π΄ πͺπ― ππ€π€π³π¦π₯πͺπ΅π’π΅πͺπ°π―β, the 3-day event aims to (1) establish mechanisms for strengthening a culture of quality assurance in higher education; (2) strategize approaches to sustain accreditation of programs and institutions; (3) enhance National and International Accreditation Partnerships and Linkages; (4) build Quality Assurance Systems from Internalization to Internationalization in Higher Education, and (5) prepare accreditors for new paradigms of accreditation survey visits. The keynote speech was given by Atty. Cinderella Benitez-Jaro (Executive Director and Acting Director-Office of Institutional Quality Assurance and Governance, CHED).
Meanwhile, AACCUP Chairperson/President, Dr. Edgardo E. Tulin, Dr. Milabel E. Ho (Executive Director-AACCUP), and Dr. Cecilio Manarpaac (Board Secretary), officially opened the event with the Statement of Purpose, the acknowledgment of the Officers, members of the AACCUP, Inc., and participants, and the introduction of the guest speakers.
Sharing best practices and inspiring ideas on Day 2 and 3 are Dr. Cynthia Jacksonhammond (President-Council for Higher Education Accreditation), Dr. Lim Kim Ying (Academic Dean-Singapore Institute Management), Dr. Cristine Nabor Ferrer (Director, External Linkages and International Affairs-Tarlac Agricultural University), Mr. Ricardo R. Palo (Executive Director of Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities (PAASCU)), and Ms. Angelica Cortero Fraginal (Managing Director and Senior Consultant-ACF Consultancy and Training Services).
The event also highlights the election of the new AACCUP Board of Trustees for 2023-2025 and the awarding of State Universities and Colleges (SUC) with institutional accreditation for 2022, with the Most Number of Programs as well as the Loyalty award for AACCUP employees. (SorSU PIO)
