(CODITE-V), in partnership with Sorsogon State University (SorSU), conducted Bicol IT Students Congress (BITSCON) 2023, from February 22-23, 2023, at SorSU Social Hall, Sorsogon City Campus.
SUC President III, Dr. Geraldine F. De Jesus, in her welcome remarks, asserted that Higher Education Institutions (HEI) should continue to design and enhance curricular offerings that integrate information technology into traditional degree courses, upgrade (through effective means) the knowledge and skills of IT instructors as well as the resources and facilities where students may transform theories into practical applications. Through these, she explained, โ๐พ๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐, ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐, ๐๐ ๐๐ ๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐ .โ
Meanwhile, Atty. Septon A. Dela Cruz, CESO III (CHED Region V Director), gave the initial keynote speech during the first day of the congress. Local and international speakers at the eventโs tech talk sessions were also present to share relevant and practical information on the IT industry.
A total of 490 college students and 80 faculty members from all ITE programs in Region V participated in the congress, consisting of CCDI – Sorsogon, ACLC – Sorsogon, PLTC โ Guinobata n, Osmeรฑa College, Mabini Colleges, CBSUA – Sipocot, SLTCFI – PIO Duran, SLTCFI – Legazpi, INFOTECH DSC, CSPC, SorSU – Bulan Campus, Aemilianum, Bicol College, CAT College, CAMNORTE, CCDI- Legazpi, ADNU, PSU, Lewis College, ACLC – Iriga, DEBESMSCAT, UNC, and CSI.
