The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), in partnership with the Department of Education (DepEd) and Sorsogon State University – College of Teacher Education, formally invites qualified and committed students to apply for the Tara, Basa! Tutoring Program.
This developmental and community-based social protection initiative aims to support low-income families while empowering college students to actively participate in nation-building through reading tutorials for children and parenting sessions for parents and guardians.
Selected applicants will serve either as Tutors, providing reading support to struggling and non-reader children, or as Youth Development Workers, facilitating parenting sessions and promoting the role of parents as the first teachers at home.
Eligible applicants are 2nd- to 3rd-year students from the BSEd, BEEd, BPED, BCAEd, or BSNEd programs of the College of Teacher Education, Sorsogon State University – Main Campus, who possess good moral character, satisfactory academic standing, and a genuine commitment to service.
Join us in bringing hope through reading and making a meaningful difference in our communities. Mayroong pag-asa sa pagbabasa. Tara, Basa!
