As part of the Commission on Higher Education’s mandate to “monitor and evaluate the performance of programs and institutions of higher learning” stipulated in Republic Act 7711 (Higher Education Act of 1994) Sec. 8, the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Region V Education Supervisor II, Dr. Jean Salalima-Go visited Sorsogon State University on March 8, 2023, for the official evaluation.
Dr. Salalima-Go was warmly received by the Office of the Student Development and Services (OSDS) headed by Prof. Maria Crisanta M. Jarque, Director of OSDS. An official courtesy call with Dr. Ryan V. Dio, Vice President for Research, Extension and Training followed.
As the CHED directs, Dr. Salalima-Go will monitor/evaluate the Student Affairs and Services (SAS) program (based on CMO.8, s. 2021) and the National Service Training Program or NSTP (based on Republic Act (RA) 9163 and RA 10121) of the University. The evaluation is scheduled from March 8-9, 2023. (SorSU PIO)
