CAPS IN THE AIR: SorSU-Bulan Campus Graduation Ceremony 2023 ushers in New Generation of Scholars

“There’s a bigger and tougher battle after graduation”–This is the gist of the message of Sorsogon Second District Representative Hon. Manuel “Wowo” Fortes Jr., as he spoke as the Guest of Honor, during the 30th Commencement Exercises of Sorsogon State University – Bulan Campus on June 7, 2023 at Bulan Gymnasium, Brgy. Sta. Remedios, Bulan, Sorsogon.

The ceremony was attended by the University officials, campus faculty and staff, stakeholders’ representatives, the parents and guardians, and the graduates of the Class of 2023.

A total of 509 graduates received their diplomas in the seven curricular programs offered by SorSU-Bulan Campus, under the two colleges; namely, College of Information & Communications Technology and College of Business and Management Education.

In his keynote speech, Hon. Fortes highlighted that the graduation ceremony is just the beginning of an even bigger challenge for graduates. He cited the tough competition for employment, but emphasized that the graduates’ degree will serve as their weapon in the arena of jobs. He also told the graduates not to forget to express their gratitude to their parents and guardians who are behind this accomplishment.

Ms. Kate Andrea H. Nayat, Cum Laude from the Bachelor of Science in Accountancy program, delivered the speech of gratitude where she explicated her hardships, especially with the standards of her program. She also expressed her gratitude to the people who became part of her university journey.

Prof. Graham M. Naz, president of the SorSU-Bulan Campus Faculty Organization, led the pledge of loyalty while Ms. Ma. Victoria G. Ballesteros, president of the SorSU-Bulan Campus Alumni Association, led the induction of the graduates to the association.
