One of the main events of the Southeast Asian Multidisciplinary Research Expo and Extension Conference (SEAMREEC) 2025 was the Congresswoman’s Night, held on June 24, 2025, at the Sorsogon Convention Center.
The program began with welcome remarks from Dr. Ryan V. Dio (VP for Research, Extension, and Training), followed by a cultural performance from the SoSU Dance Cultural and Theater Group. The group performed a series of traditional dances that represented the cultural heritage and diversity of the Bicol region.
A dinner reception, generously sponsored by Hon. Marie Bernadette “Dette” G. Escudero (1st District Representative, Sorsogon Province), was held thereafter. It gave researchers, educators, and guests a chance to connect beyond the academic sessions of the conference.
Congresswoman’s Night was organized to complement the conference’s formal events by encouraging interaction and showcasing local traditions. (SorSU PIO)
