DILG Partners with SorSU and Sorsogon Provincial Government for Infrastructure Audit Training

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Sorsogon, in partnership with Sorsogon State University (SorSU) and the Provincial Government of Sorsogon under the leadership of Hon. Edwin “Boboy” B. Hamor (Provincial Governor), through the Sorsogon Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction & Management Office (SPDRRMO) led by Engr. Raden D. Dimaano (PGDH) conducted a training on Infrastructure Audit in the Province of Sorsogon from September 3-5, 2025, at Antonio’s Hall, SorSU Dormtel, Sorsogon City.

The event officially began with a welcome message from SUC President III, Dr. Geraldine F. De Jesus, who highlighted the importance of building local capacity in infrastructure assessment and emphasized that this training supports Sustainable Development Goal 17, which focuses on strengthening implementation and partnerships for sustainable development.

This was followed by a keynote message from PD Arnel Renato L. Madrideo (DILG, Sorsogon) and an acknowledgment of the participants by LGOO VI Rafael L. Dela Rama. Over three days, participants took part in discussions and workshops covering the Fundamentals and Procedures of Infrastructure Audit. The training was structured into six (6) sessions:
Session 1: Principles and Purpose of LGU Infrastructure Audit
Session 2: The LGU Infrastructure Audit Teams and Their Roles and Responsibilities
Session 3: Vulnerability Indicators
Session 4: Inspection of Infrastructure
Session 5: Infrastructure Audit Process and Accomplishment of Local Infrastructure Audit Form
Session 6: Engineering Solutions

A key part of the training was the Infrastructure Audit Field Simulation, followed by the presentation of outputs. The activity concluded with participants creating action plans. OIC CH Josef Roi O. Armenta, CESE, delivered the closing remarks to formally end the training. (SorSU PIO)
