Driving Towards Safety: SorSU-Bulan, LTO-Irosin, join forces for Road Safety Seminar

Sorsogon State University – Bulan Campus, in partnership with the Land Transportation Office – Irosin District Office, successfully conducted a Seminar on Traffic Rules, Road Safety, and Theoretical Driving Course today, September 5, 2025, at the SorSU-BC Social Hall.

The event brought together students, faculty, and personnel to deepen their knowledge of road safety, driving etiquettes, and traffic regulations.

In his opening remarks, Dr. Rey C. Rodrigueza, Dean of the College of ICT, emphasized the importance of responsible driving as a shared duty to ensure community safety.

LTO personnel, Mr. Marlon Ortile, facilitated the discussions which highlighted crucial topics such as the vision and mission of LTO, traffic rules and regulations, road safety and etiquettes, safety tips in driving, adjudication, and violations.

Tomorrow’s session, September 6, as Day 2 of the program, will focus on the processing of student permit applications, giving participants the opportunity to formally begin their journey as responsible drivers under the guidance of the LTO.

In his closing message, Mr. Norjan S. Eneria, Coordinator for Safety and Security, reminded participants that road safety is not just a legal requirement but also a moral responsibility.

With the theme centered on cultivating discipline, awareness, and accountability among future drivers, this initiative underscores SorSU-Bulan Campus’ commitment to producing not only academically competent students but also socially responsible citizens.
