Eng’r Oscar Peter D. Pascual participates in APCoRE 2023 Hybrid International Conference

Eng’r Oscar Peter D. Pascual, a dedicated researcher and professor of Sorsogon State University Castilla Campus, recently participated in the APCoRE 2023 Hybrid International Conference held from August 29 to 31, 2023, in the beautiful city of Bandung, West Java, Indonesia. The conference, organized by the Asia-Pacific Consortium of Researchers and Educators (APCORE) in partnership with Quezon City University, Abra State Institute of Science and Technology, Politeknik Piksi Ganesha, Academic International Consortium of Indonesia, SEAMEO-TED, and SEAMEO CECCEP, revolved around the theme “Sustainable Research and Education: Trajectories, Hopes, Alarms, and Expectations.”

The primary objective of this event was to promote, strengthen, and mainstream research outputs of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) and other organizations across the Asia-Pacific region in various disciplines. It provided a valuable platform for sharing and discussing research issues, concerns, and outputs among a diverse group of participants.

During the conference, Eng’r Pascual presented a paper titled, “Land and Crop Suitability Indices using Multi-Criteria Decision Making Methods for Mapping Abaca (Musa textilis) Production Suitability in the Province of Sorsogon, Philippines.” This research showcased innovative approaches to assessing land suitability for abaca production, a significant agricultural sector in the Philippines.

As a result of his participation, Eng’r Pascual received a certificate of participation, recognizing his contribution to the conference’s success. Furthermore, this international gathering facilitated the possibility of future collaborations with fellow researchers and institutions, which could lead to valuable partnerships in the realm of sustainable research and education.
