First Lady Liza Marcos spearheads “Lab For All” program; SorSU President De Jesus joins CHED Chairman Dr. Prospero De Vera III in the distribution of TES grants

First Lady Louise “Liza” Araneta-Marcos spearheaded the Lingap at Alagang Bayanihan “Lab For All” program, aimed at enhancing healthcare accessibility, on July 18, 2024, at the Sorsogon Provincial Gymnasium, Sorsogon City. This initiative has organized nationwide caravans that provide primary healthcare and medical services, including free consultation, laboratory tests, family planning services, and distribution of free medicines, among others.

Present during the program were Senate President Francis “Chiz” Escudero, Cong. Marie Bernadette “Dette” G. Escudero (1st District Representative-Sorsogon Province), Provincial Governor Edwin “Boboy” B. Hamor, CHED Chairperson Dr. J. Prospero “Popoy” E. De Vera III, Atty. Septon A. Dela Cruz (CHED ROV Regional Director), Atty. Ryan L. Estevez (OIC-Executive Director IV-UniFAST), Dr. Benjamin E. Nebres III (Bicol University President), government officials and employees and other local stakeholders.

In his message, CHED Chairperson Dr. De Vera III emphasized the importance of accessible healthcare through the “Lab For All” initiative. Additionally, with the support of SUC President III, Dr. Geraldine F. De Jesus, Dr. De Vera distributed Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES) stipends to deserving students during the same event, bringing smiles to the young beneficiaries.
