To celebrate and honor the unwavering commitment, exemplary service, and outstanding contributions of SorSU employees to the Pamantasang May Puso, Sorsogon State University organized 𝙎𝙤𝙧𝙎𝙐: 𝙂𝙖𝙗𝙞 𝙣𝙜 𝙋𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙖𝙡, a university-wide awards night, which was graced by aesthetically stunning distinguished guests – SorSU key officials, faculty members, and administrative personnel (both former and current), dressed in their glitz and glam outfits, last May 24, 2023, at Sorsogon Convention Center, Sorsogon City.
The highlight of the SorSU: Gabi ng Parangal is the awarding ceremonies to former campus directors, former deans, retirees, as well as present SorSU personnel for their meritorious service to the University. Likewise, employees were also given accolades for their outstanding performance on research, extension, and training, while selected exemplary officials were the recipients of The President’s Awards.
SUC President III, Dr. Geraldine F. De Jesus, emphasized in her welcome remarks that SorSU today, with its top-notch advancements and milestones, was successfully achieved and established owing to the vision, guidance, perseverance, efforts, and sacrifices of former exemplary officials and employees.

Moreover, Dr. De Jesus also shared the remarkable developments, achievements, and accomplishments that transpired and positively changed the institution in the past ten months in her service as the University President, including vigorous infrastructure improvement and developments; accredited program offerings; faculty & staff scholarships and relevant trainings; local and national competitions of flagship student organizations; licensure examinations and curricular competitions; launching of research centers in different campuses; collaborative partnerships with LGUs, agencies, private institutions, & other community stakeholders as well as international linkages.
Meanwhile, Dr. Jhonner D. Ricafort (Vice President for Academic Affairs), in his closing remarks, emphasized before the SorSU employees to continue to strive for excellence and passion in their respective fields for the purpose of being a valuable contributor to the beloved institution.
