The four-day biennial 2025 Southeast Asian Multidisciplinary Research Expo and Extension Conference (SEAMREEC), designed to facilitate scholarly exchanges on scientific knowledge and innovations as well as foster linkages and collaborations among Southeast Asian higher education institutions (HEIs), officially concluded with a closing ceremony on June 26, 2025, at the Sorsogon Convention Center, Sorsogon City, Sorsogon.

A highlight of the event was the awarding of certificates to winners across seven tracks, including Best Oral Presenters, Best Posters, Special Awards, and Best Conference Papers.

The closing messages were delivered by Dr. Jeyaletchumi A/P Muthiah (Mathematic Education Specialist (SEAMEO RECSAM) and Dr. Nguyen Trung Cang (Vice Rector, Kien Giang University). Dr. Muthiah expressed her deepest appreciation and heartfelt gratitude to all who contributed to making the event inspiring and memorable.

She emphasized, “Together let us continue to contribute to building bridges across borders and communities for the shared goal of transforming education in Southeast Asia.”

In his speech, Dr. Cang noted that the conclusion of the conference marks not an end, but a new beginning — a beginning of future partnerships, new research endeavors, and a shared commitment to sustainable development through education and innovation.

Selected participants also shared their reflections and key takeaways during the four-day event, extending their profound appreciation to SorSU and the steering committee for orchestrating such a remarkable gathering.

Dr. Ryan V. Dio (Vice President for Research, Extension and Training), in his closing message, urged the participants to take the dynamic exchange of ideas from the conference back to their communities.

VPRET Dio concluded, “As we leave, let us carry forward the spirit of SEAMREEC to create solutions, capacitate communities, collaborate across boundaries, and connect for a sustainable future.”
