Justin Golloso claims victory in Vision Petron National Student Art Competition 2024

Justin R. Golloso, a fourth-year architecture student at Sorsogon State University-College of Engineering and Architecture (SorSU-COEA), garnered remarkable recognition as the 3rd runner-up in the Vision Petron National Student Art Competition 2024, held in Pasig City on October 30, 2024.

This year’s theme, “UGNAYAN,” highlights the fundamental role of relationships in our lives, especially among the youth and adults. It reminds us of the connections that bind families, communities, and our nation, emphasizing how these relationships nurture support and unity.

Golloso’s artwork, a 34×28 inch watercolor titled “Unveiling Family Ties in the Sensory Abyss,” tells the story of a sister who sets out to rescue a loved one trapped in a digital world where their senses are compromised. This piece powerfully conveys the theme of family support and solidarity in the face of digital challenges and illustrates the bonds that define relationships. It also shows the resilience and determination needed to overcome challenges, underscoring the significance of authentic connection in a complex digital landscape.

The SorSU community extends its warmest congratulations to Justin R. Golloso for this impressive national achievement! Continue expressing your creativity through watercolor painting and inspiring those around you. A heartfelt thank you to the university officials, especially to SUC President III, Dr. Geraldine F. De Jesus, for their unwavering support. Your commitment to nurturing talent is greatly valued. (SorSU PIO)
