Even though the academic year has officially wrapped up, there’s no denying that the Marine Biology Department has accomplished so much, and spearheaded the first-ever launch of the Month of the Ocean 2025 in University!
On May 5, 2025, SorSU Magallanes Campus proudly hosted the Marine SOS: Save Our Seas Opening Program at the Campus Auditorium, marking a milestone in this year’s celebration.
The event was attended by representatives from various private and government agencies, including the PENRO – DENR, DENR Regional Office V, BFAR Regional Office V, PCSSD, and BMMCI Sorsogon. It was marked by the enthusiastic participation of BS Marine Biology and BS Fisheries faculty and students.
The week-long celebration of the MB Week, in celebration of the MOO, reminds us that protecting our seas is a shared responsibility — and a cause worth diving into. 💙
