Sorsogon State University-Bulan Campus (SorSU-BC) celebrated Teacher’s Day on the morning of October 3, 2025, at the SorSU-BC Social Hall with heartfelt tributes, inspiring messages, and performances from students and organizations to honor the educators who serve as the heart of the university.

The program began with a prayer, followed by the entrance of colors and the singing of the Philippine National Anthem, then an opening salvo led by student leaders and the STAND Organization.

In her opening message, Campus Director Dr. Ma. Elena C. Demdam highlighted the irreplaceable role of educators. “Sila ang tunay na puso ng ating pamantasan… they leave a lasting impact on every student’s journey,” she said, adding that teachers deserve to be celebrated not only today but always.

The celebration was filled with lively and moving presentations. UPS gave a band performance, followed by a dance from STAND Organization. CRCYC performed a song, while FMG-Tech gave another song number. YES, SKC, COMSOC, and the SorSU-BC ROTC Unit brought energy with their dance performances. JPIA, Scholars League, and the SSC also offered heartfelt songs, while KAAGAPAY presented a mix of acting, singing, and dance. After each performance, the presidents of the organizations shared words of gratitude, further personalizing their tributes to teachers.

Inspirational messages were also shared during the program. Mr. Sean Martin Fulay, an instructor from the College of Information and Communications Technology, encouraged both teachers and students through his words, while Ma’am Led Despuig of College of Business and Management Education shared her journey that led her to becoming a teacher and reminded everyone with a quote from Michael Morpurgo: “It’s the teacher that makes the difference, not the classroom.” She added that while students may forget what the classroom looks like, they will never forget the wisdom, lessons, and guidance given by their teachers.

A touching moment came when James Borlagdan of STAND sang as students presented tokens of appreciation to teachers, symbolizing the community’s gratitude for their dedication and sacrifices.

Closing the celebration, the newly elected SSC President, Ms. Janna Grabillo, expressed the students’ heartfelt thanks. “Salamatunon tabi sa pag-gabay asin suporta—not just academically but in many fields. Yadi po kami niyan dahil saiyo; kung nano kami niyan, dako kamo na parte san growth namo,” she said.

The program ended with the singing of the SorSU Hymn, capping a celebration that underscored the important role of teachers in shaping not only knowledge but also the lives of their students.
