Exactly two years ago, the historic 𝑼𝒏𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝑫𝒆𝒄𝒍𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝑪𝒆𝒓𝒆𝒎𝒐𝒏𝒚, where Sorsogon State University was officially declared as the lone State University of the Province, took place. This milestone event was conducted after the full compliance of the University to all prescribed requirements for university-hood thus, the Commission En Banc approved the conversion of Sorsogon State College into Sorsogon State University last April 13, 2021.
The momentous occasion was attended by the Chairperson of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), Dr. J. Prospero “Popoy” de Vera III, CHED Commissioner and SorSU Board of Regents Chairperson, Dr. Aldrin A. Darilag, Hon. Evelina G. Escudero, former Regional Director of CHED Region V, Dr. Freddie T. Bernal, university officials, employees, and students.
This day also marked the first time the Sorsogon State University Hymn, “𝑯𝒂𝒊𝒍 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒆, 𝑷𝒓𝒊𝒅𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝑺𝒐𝒓𝒔𝒐𝒈𝒐𝒏” and 𝑼𝒏𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝑺𝒆𝒂𝒍 were released to the public, signifying a new era for the institution, all in the pursuit of quality and excellent education.Watch here to relive the moment: https://fb.watch/konRr4O4ZO/
