The Midwifery Program of the College of Teacher Education held its first pinning and candle lighting ceremony with the theme, βππ¨π―πͺπ΅πͺπ―π¨ π΅π©π¦ ππͺπ³π¦ π°π§ ππ’π΄π΄πͺπ°π― πΈπͺπ΅π©πͺπ― π΅π©π¦ π©π¦π’π³π΅π΄ π°π§ ππΆπ΅πΆπ³π¦ ππ°π³πππ¦Γ±π° ππͺπ₯πΈπͺπ·π¦π΄β at the Villa Ysabelle Balroom Hall, Sorsogon City last November 29, 2022.
The event served as an important milestone in the journey of the students taking up the Diploma in Midwifery as it is intended to serve as a formal initiation rite prior to the practice of the Midwifery Profession.
Special guest speaker, Dr. Ma. Pamela Sorra-ViΓ±a, Education Supervisor II of CHEDRO V shared the journeys of a student taking up a medical profession, instilling pride and inspiration in the profession where service to the people is the ultimate goal. Meanwhile, University President Dr. Geraldine F. De Jesus reiterated in her message the support of the βPamantasang may Pusoβ to the students and their families who attended the special occasion. She encouraged the students to continue pursuing their education and specialization from midwifery to the nursing profession.
Dr. Jhonner D. Ricafort (VP for Academic Affairs), Dr. Telesforo D. Escoto (Sorsogon Campus Director), and other SorSU faculty also attended the momentous event. Dr. Alfonso L. Garcia (Dean, CoTEd) gave the closing remarks. (SorSU PIO)
