Sorsogon State University (SorSU) continues to strengthen its commitment to student well-being through its “Nourish to Flourish” initiative, a program dedicated to providing free, healthy meals to students on campus.
On August 20, 2025, the Office of the City Mayor, through the support of Hon. Ma. Ester E. Hamor, partnered with SorSU under the “Nourish to Flourish” program, serving rice porridge and bread to SorSUenos. This was followed by another activity on August 28, 2025, where macaroni soup and bread were distributed at the SorSU Covered Court. Both feeding activities were made possible through the generosity of Mayor Hamor and the assistance of her office staff.
This partnership with the LGU will continue twice a week, every Tuesday and Thursday, and aims to ease students’ daily challenges by ensuring access to healthy meals. It forms part of a broader effort to enhance student well-being and support learning by addressing nutritional needs.
Through this initiative, SorSU and the Office of the City Mayor continue to work together to ensure that students have the support they need not only inside the classroom but also in their day-to-day lives. (SorSU PIO)
