Sorsogon State University-College of Technology (SorSU-COT) officially held its 32nd Commencement Exercises on June 30, 2025, at the Sorsogon Convention Center, honoring the academic achievements of its graduating class from the Bachelor of Technology program, with majors in Automotive Technology, Architectural Drafting, Electrical Technology, and Food Service Management.
The ceremony began with a formal procession, attended by graduating students, their parents, faculty members, university personnel, guests, and the university officials. This was followed by the Philippine National Anthem conducted by Ms. Kristel Kimberly G. Dellomas, an opening prayer delivered through a doxology by the SorSU Chorale, and a musical overture performed by the SorSU Marching Band.
Dr. Telesforo D. Escoto (Campus Director, Sorsogon City Campus) officially presented and certified the candidates for graduation, followed by the conferral of degrees by SUC President III, Dr. Geraldine F. De Jesus, who also introduced the guest speaker, Ms. Maria Elena D. Conde (Chief Executive Officer, El Conde Co., Ltd). In her commencement address, Ms. Conde emphasized the importance of integrity and perseverance. She remarked, “Plant your dreams with intention, water them with prayer, and trust God to bring the growth. Success is not determined by effort alone but by faith, trust, and obedience to God. As you step into this new chapter, remember these words: Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and He will establish your plans.”
In recognition of academic excellence, medals were awarded to outstanding graduates, led by the University President and assisted by the Vice President for Academic Affairs. A message of gratitude was delivered by Mr. Joebert J. Dimaano (BT-Drafting, Magna Cum Laude), who expressed appreciation to the university, faculty, family, and fellow graduates for their support throughout the academic journey. The ceremonial awarding of diplomas followed, facilitated by President De Jesus, along with the Vice Presidents, the campus director, the university registrar, and the dean.
The 32nd Commencement Exercises affirmed the university’s commitment to excellence and to preparing graduates for their professional careers.
