Sorsogon State University Embraces ASEAN Cultural Diversity with New Dress Code Initiative

In celebration of ASEAN’s rich cultural diversity and unity, Sorsogon State University joined the national movement by adhering to Civil Service Commission (CSC) Memorandum Circular (MC) No. 16, S. 2024, or the “Revised Dress Code for Government Officials and Employees,” wherein all government personnel must wear attire or clothing inspired by the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) on the first Monday of the month and Filipiniana-inspired on the remaining Mondays. The revised dress code aims to “boost employee morale, professionalism, and productivity” in public workplaces.

On February 3, 2025, SorSU faculty, staff, and administrators proudly donned traditional and contemporary outfits inspired by the cultures of ASEAN member nations, showcasing the university’s commitment to fostering regional collaboration and cultural appreciation. (SorSU PIO)
