Sorsogon State University Passes ISO surveillance visit; Bulan Campus Records Zero Non-Compliance

After last week’s grueling AACCUP program accreditation, Sorsogon State University – Bulan underwent another quality assessment activity on August 24, 2023 with the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) Surveillance Visit for the College of Information & Communications Technology.

Amidst the taxing preparations undertaken by the dedicated faculty and staff, the assessment itself proved demanding. However, the visit concluded on a high note as Mr. Rannie Bernardino, the ISO Lead Auditor, delivered the gratifying news that Sorsogon State University – Bulan Campus had not only passed the evaluation but also showcased considerable advancements, particularly in areas pertaining to curriculum and teaching processes. A notable triumph was achieved as Bulan Campus garnered a commendable zero non-compliance record, underscoring complete alignment with the relevant standards.

Mr. Bernardino’s audit was centered around the quality of teaching and learning within the College of ICT, under the leadership of its dean, Engr. Rey C. Rodrigueza. The assessment focused on the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology program. Attention was paid to ensure coherence and uniformity among key documents such as course syllabi, references, examination formats, and class records. Valuable insights were provided regarding risk assessment, offering opportunities for further enhancement.

Prof. Ma. Elena C. Demdam, Campus Director, Engr. Rey C. Rodrigueza, Dean of CICT, and Prof. Mark Anthony D. Dipad, Quality Assurance Coordinator, extended their heartfelt gratitude to the entire faculty and staff who contributed to the meticulous preparation for the surveillance visit, especially to the program chairs of CICT, Engr. Ruel Grafia of BSIT, Mr. Jonel Prado of BSCS, and Ms. Jessa Oscillada of BSIS. Special recognition was also reserved for the faculty members subjected to the audit sampling, namely Mr. Norjan Eneria, Mr. Milan Bausa, Mr. Homer Fuentes, and Mr. John Mark Gabrentina.
