Three (3) fourth-year students of the Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEED) program at Sorsogon State University (SorSU) paid a courtesy visit to SUC President III, Dr. Geraldine F. De Jesus, following the successful completion of their international work immersion in Japan.

Ms. Loresse Anne D. Desuasido, Ms. Flourenze Faye J. Sasin, and Ms. Irish Mae J. Domalayas participated in an immersive training program in Japanese-style education at Beyondia International Kindergarten School-Yamata Kindergarten & Ikebukuro Funshine School from October 5 to December 16, 2025. The program provided the students with firsthand exposure to Japan’s educational system, focusing on learner-centered instructional practices.


The courtesy visit was held at the Office of the University President and was attended by Dr. Alfonso L. Garcia Jr. (Dean, College of Teacher Education), Prof. Jackielyne M. Bosquillos (Program Chair, BEED/BSNED), Prof. Anabell A. Manga (Program Chair, BSED), and Prof. Susan Mae A. Jamoralin (BCAED/BPED).


During the visit, the students shared their experiences and learnings from the international immersion. President De Jesus likewise expressed appreciation for the students’ commendable performance in Japan, noting that their participation reflects the university’s commitment to producing globally competent educators.


The international work immersion program is part of the university’s initiatives to expand global opportunities for students and enhance the quality of teacher education through experiential and cross-cultural learning. (SorSU PIO)
