SorSU – Bulan Campus launches Project Captivate: Empowering educators, students through technology-driven research innovation

SORSU-BULAN LAUNCHES PROJECT CAPTIVATE: EMPOWERING EDUCATORS, STUDENTS THROUGH TECHNOLOGY-DRIVEN RESEARCH INNOVATION

In a move to elevate academic excellence and research innovation, Sorsogon State University – Bulan Campus, through the College of Information and Communications Technology (CICT) and in partnership with ACLC College of Sorsogon, officially launched Project CAPTIVATE, “Empowering Educators and Students in Crafting Academic Papers, Theses, and Innovative Visions through Technological Expertise.”


Anchored on the principles of digital literacy, research innovation, and academic excellence, Project CAPTIVATE aims to equip educators and students with the skills to effectively utilize technological tools in academic writing and research. The initiative supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education, promoting inclusive and equitable access to learning by strengthening the research and technological capacities of higher education institutions (HEIs) in Sorsogon.


Through training programs, workshops, and consultancy initiatives, Project CAPTIVATE seeks to build a vibrant community of practice where educators and students can collaborate, exchange insights, and co-create innovative outputs that advance local and global education.


Project Leader Jonel B. Prado, MIT, together with component project leaders Dr. Nestor L. Lasala, Jr., Dr. Jhonner P. Ricafort, Jessa A. Poe, MIT, Noemi D. Dioneda, MIT, Dr. Ma. Elena C. Demdam, and Dr. Rey C. Rodriguez, leads the implementation of this transformative project. They are joined by a dynamic team of assistant leaders, facilitators, and IT experts from the Bachelor of Science in Computer Science program.
