SorSU Bulan Campus partners with LTO for Road Safety and Defensive Driving Seminar

In a remarkable display of commitment to community well-being and safety, Sorsogon State University-Bulan Campus (SorSU-BC) has collaborated with the Land Transportation Office (LTO) of Irosin, Sorsogon, to host a Road Safety and Defensive Driving Seminar. The seminar, conducted on September 27-28, 2023, at the campus’ social hall, aimed to equip participants with essential road safety knowledge.

On the first day, participants were introduced to various aspects of road safety, including the LTO’s vision and mission, traffic rules and regulations, road signages, safety etiquette, and theoretical driving concepts. Janice Mendoza, LTO Assistance Chief, emphasized the importance of drivers understanding their rights and responsibilities on the road, particularly discussing motor vehicle use laws.

On the seminar’s second day, SorSU-BC staff and students participated in a comprehensive exam to evaluate their understanding of road safety practices, laws, and vehicle terminology.

Furthermore, attendees had the opportunity to apply for driver’s student permits and driver’s licenses, register for certificates of vehicle, and obtain vehicle IDs or stickers. The distribution of vehicle IDs or stickers is scheduled on Monday, October 2, 2023.

This initiative underscores the university’s commitment to promoting community well-being and safety, making a positive difference in the lives of its stakeholders.
