SorSU-Bulan Campus pays homage to Philippine History on the Nation’s 125th Independence Day

In a display of national pride, Sorsogon State University – Bulan Campus joined the celebration of the 125th Philippine Independence Day today, June 12, 2023, at Bulan Freedom Park.

Prof. Ma. Elena C. Demdam, SorSU-Bulan Campus Director, led the faculty, staff and students as they gathered to pay homage to the nation’s rich history, and commemorated the struggles and triumphs that led to freedom. They likewise offered a wreath to the Philippine flag standing beside the statue of the national hero, Jose Rizal. This gesture served as a reminder of the importance of honoring and preserving the memory of those who fought for independence.

Selected members of the SorSU-BC Theater Arts N’ Dance (STAND) Organization, dressed in their vibrant traditional Filipino attire, also staged a captivating folk dance performance, showcasing the colorful Philippine culture as a product of its rich history.

Under the theme “Kalayaan. Kinabukasan. Kasaysayan.”, the activity was organized by the Local Government Unit of Bulan as a reminder of the collective responsibility to uphold the values of freedom, unity, and progress that define the Filipino nation. (SorSU – Bulan Campus)
