SorSU capacitates BS Nursing/Midwifery faculty & Midwifery students on Outcome-Based Education, organizes two-day “Empowering Health Science Education: Through Enhanced Outcome-Based Learning Outcomes” seminar-workshop

With the intent to enhance participants’ understanding of curriculum alignment & industry standards and equip them with skills in crafting Outcome-Based Syllabi, as well as foster critical thinking & problem-solving skills in Health Science Education, Sorsogon State University successfully organized a two-day seminar-workshop on Outcome-Based Education called “Empowering Health Science Education: Through Enhanced Outcome-Based Learning Outcomes” to BS Nursing/BS Midwifery faculty members as well as BS Midwifery students, from May 13-14, 2024, at the SorSU Nursing Arts Room for Simulations, 3rd Floor Architecture Building, Sorsogon City Campus.

Dr. Telesforo D. Escoto (Campus Director, Sorsogon City Campus) delivered the opening remarks of the two-day seminar-workshop, which was followed by a message from Dr. Jhonner D. Ricafort (Vice President for Academic Affairs), in lieu of SUC President III, Dr. Geraldine F. De Jesus. Afterward, statement of purpose of the activity was provided by Mr. Jaymark D. Samson (Head, Program Standards).

The seminar-workshop featured talk sessions, including Topic 1: Elevating Nursing Education through Enhanced Syllabi by Prof. Abegail F. Monge (Program Chair, BS Nursing Program – Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges) and Topic 2: Addressing Challenges and Opportunities in Related-Learning Experience (RLE) by Ms. Lea Anne A. Mediado (RLE Coordinator) as well as open forums, workshop session, and presentation of output and constructive critiquing. (SorSU PIO)
